Description
Taken from Fern Hill in Queenstown which is in the south island of New Zealand.I took this last night after the storm had cleared... there was around 15cm of snow accumulated in around an hour. The clouds hung around for a while so I couldnt get any shots... until I noticed the clear skies before bed. I hopped in my car and drove up the road to one of my little spots to take this.
I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take my submission to the =PanoramaClub s competition Long Exposure Panoramas (my idea!)
Im happy to say that it won! No prizes just a feature with =PanoramaClub - Im just stoked on winning my first comp!
I also entered it into =MountainShots competition which I tied for first!
It is 8 photos over 2 levels, merged together using PTGui Pro.

funny you should say that.... The mountains to the top in the left half are called the Remarkables! Not because they look so remarkable but because they run perfectly north - south! Bet you didnt think your comment would get a response like that huh!

It is a boat. Its a small icon of Queenstown called the Ernslaw and this would have been coming back into QT.

The lighting is perfect and the sky with the stars and clouds around the mountain makes for something magical.

Magnificent shot. The crisp details in the distant mountains are wonderful. Must have been a technical challenge to successfully pull off this 8 exposure-piece.
