Description
Taken from Fern Hill in Queenstown which is in the south island of New Zealand.I took this last night after the storm had cleared... there was around 15cm of snow accumulated in around an hour. The clouds hung around for a while so I couldnt get any shots... until I noticed the clear skies before bed. I hopped in my car and drove up the road to one of my little spots to take this.
I thought it was a perfect opportunity to take my submission to the =PanoramaClub s competition Long Exposure Panoramas (my idea!)
Im happy to say that it won! No prizes just a feature with =PanoramaClub - Im just stoked on winning my first comp!
I also entered it into =MountainShots competition which I tied for first!
It is 8 photos over 2 levels, merged together using PTGui Pro.

Oh and by the way... its my 100th deviation!!

By living in an amazing place! It is long exposure with half moon up after fresh snow. Right place right time kinda stuff!

Every little touch adds a nice effect to this
The lights light up the bottom and the snow keeps it nice and bright with the magical lake and stars

haha! I know, and my girl was 6 hours away! I live in Canterbury now, but this was shot in central Otago. Im assuming you know the regions of NZ! and that NZ means New Zealand!

i'm in the United States, but actually, yes i am pretty familiar with the regions. haha i llive in the US so that's probably why i've never seen a sky like that.
