Description
Lonely DaySuch a lonely day
Shouldn't exist
It's a day that I'll never miss
Such a lonely day
And it's mine
The most lonliest day of my life
That above is the story of the lonesome man in the middle of the picture.
The story is from lyrics from one of System of a Down's new songs; Lonely Day from their new album Hypnotise.
The terrain was made in World-Machine then further Rendered in Terragen.
The rest was done in Photoshop.
I'm quite pleased with how this one turned out, I like the colour of the Terrain's atmos and I think the clouds clash with that colour but somehow work.
First Terragen+Space Deviation so be nice
Sorry for the Image Resolution and the Image Size.

The visuality of it -- the feeling I get from it, the idea. Perfect package. I'm liking some of your work a lot, and this is one of my more favorite pieces. Love the song, too. xD

That's awesome for your first Terraspace piece! I should prolly make one for Terraspace too sometime. Nice work!

The big planet's texture is a bit grainy, if it were smooth and sharp it would have really made the piece a lot better. Also, rings are usually made of smaller rocks and you can barely see their grainyness, they look smooth. The particles should at least be smaller usually :-p.
I really like the other planets and the landscape is good.
The top of the atmosphere could be improved, but that takes a bunch of practice, its hard to make a good transition.

Yeah the planet didn't really work out, I've grown to hate it honestly .
Thanks for the comment.

Size the planet down to keep detail, and make the stars less uniform. Spherize both smaller planets a little more, and turn the lower one into a moon, or a gas giant in the background. Then, perfection will have been achieved.

Thanks for the tips, alex , but I think I flattened the image then accidentally saved :-/.
I will keep the tips in mind though on my next graphic with a space scene!

I know hey, I could have sworn I didn't save it flattened but oh well.
Glad your looking forward to it , it will have a gas giant planet in it as the focal point in the space scene.
Plus some other stuff if I get any ideas.

Perfect. Great colours, scene, lighting, tone. Everything! Except for system of a down suck.. a smaller version would be ace, something you could viuew all on one page, without scrolling

Thanks for the compliments :-D.
...No YOU suck! lol, off the Simpsons/etc but yeah, a smaller version would mean less visual quality to the more finer detail. If there is any.

i like it but why are there different light sources on the planets? the planets near the top left corner doesn't fit.

Dunno, I wasn't really paying attention with that .
Next time it should be be better.

theregisteredone In reply to Mark-S [2005-11-26 17:49:40 +0000 UTC]
but unless the planets are really far apart(which would mean they background planet are so big, you can see them from another system ) they should share the same light source/sources

Mark-S In reply to theregisteredone [2005-11-27 02:49:12 +0000 UTC]
Yeah guess so.
Well I'll take that into consideration next time.

Edit: The two planets in the top left are suppose to be getting light from the flash/bang coming of the planet.
That's what's making their light and the rest of the plantes are suppose to be getting light from the bottom left, from the Terragen light.
