Good try, you got the lighting this time. but like most of the "terraspace" pieces around here, this piece totally ignores the principal that things farther away almost always have lower contrast than things up close. in your case, you have a planet (moon, what ever), millions of kilometers away with more spectacular colours and contrast than the landscape that is merely hundreds of meters away. this totally violates the notion that an atmosphere even exist on the planet that this scene is taking place on (heck this is not even at night, just look at the colour of the sky at sunset, or even a few hours AFTER sunset, it is still mostly blue, and you can't even see many stars), not to mention the nebulae ("space clouds") that is prominent in your work. also, just why would the planet cast shadows on the nebulae?
like most of the space art around these places, this piece place too much focus on trying to cram in as many details as possible while on the whole compromising the unity, or even making the piece nonsensical. My two cents.

I think you should say that to because he did it , but I'm going to apply what you've said to my space works also.
Like I said the other day I'm working on another one and I'm going to concentrate on lighting/realism (even though it wont be nightime ).
I never really thought about the distance from the planet to the (in this case) the Terragen part; that is a damn good point and thanks for pointing it out!
I love your comments, you always give me something to work on.

The bottom terrain segment is really solid, that's really working well. But the space scene has been pathetically overworked and hackneyed, and it just kills the piece for me.

Thanks for the compliment but in all fairness I don't think the space-scene's pathetic but that is your opinion

Well your not understanding me, Im saying the scene's been stupidly overworked, and my point is that there it's just a clone of a million other space scenes that all started with Alyn's creativity, he's the only one that could ever pull it off haha.

What do you use to make these? I usually use Terragen and Photoshop for the ones i make. I want to learn how to do this.

The terragen-part is as always great but the coloring of the space-part looks a little bit strange
