Awesome piece!
I also like the very evil looking ship that reminds me of a Romulan Warbird.

Awesome work man.
Starfield is incredible and the lightning looks great. And the flying comet and rocks in the front just puts the finishing touch to it.
Personally I have just got to know space art better and I have realized how varied and interesting it can be allthough it's quite popular subject. I hope some day I can be able to do stuff like this.
Keep up the good work.

is there a tutorial on how to make the Sun blur like that, some kind of radiant view, I dont know what you call it.
But how did you make the sun so bright !
been looking for hours on DA and google

DKF In reply to Translucent-Image [2006-05-09 15:52:35 +0000 UTC]
well, the brightness is coused by the contrast between the darker area and the sun ofcourse. The sun itself is not much more then some round brushes and some squeezed round brushes. In the middle i think i used a part with some noise and then i applied radial blurr and fooled aaround with the levels of that layer. If you mess around with it you will get it right. Contrast is the key imo to some good spaceart

Easily the best use of this mesh that I've seen... and it's not even the outright focus of the pic!
Personally, though I'm impressed with all the aspects of this, I find the comet trails to be the most visually interesting. Blue!

Awesome. I've just started recently with c4d and I'm experimenting with stuff like this....looks like crap though the one thing I want to know though is how to make a space background like that in photoshop....whenever I add as much stuff as that it just seems....crowded and stuff. anyways, excellent work!

I think everything is perfect on this piece except ONE thing. The big glow, mabye the sun or whatever, breaks of really wierd against the planet. When u see that line of light wich comes as an result of a planet is in it's way or somethin it should be closer to the planet. Also that it doesn't brake properly, it should be in right angle compared to the planet. Sounds crazy tryin to explain. But mabye you'll understand what I mean.
Regardless it's a wonderful pice with kickass quality. Way to go here br'o
