I feel this is related to independence by portraying mixed race relationships which are looked down upon in many communities therefore they are not following the "norm".

I don't usually write critiques but I feel this deserves one. It's visually very poignant, and has a great message to it.
The technique is flawless. A perfect amount of vignetting around the edges, very striking silhouettes of both the hands and the fence itself, and the texture on the skin is wonderful.
Add to that a shallow depth of field, and great composition, and overall it makes an excellent photograph. I'd say it's more like an artistic photojournalism piece rather than a conceptual shot. Although it was thought out and planned, rather than a spur of the moment shot, making it a conceptual piece to me.

Anyways, what's more important is how amazing this photograph is. The black and white suits it perfectly, sort of keeping to the simplicity of the work. Using the hands and the fence to send your message is also a marvelous idea. This was a well thought up and well executed photo ♥ Kudos to you, and keep up the great work!
