Description
~ Racism is man's gravest threat to man - the maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason. ~ Abraham J. HeschelSubmitted this [link] contest.
I feel this is related to independence by portraying mixed race relationships which are looked down upon in many communities therefore they are not following the "norm".

I love all the different contrasts in this photo. Beyond the skin color the difference between the skin and the metal of the fence, the focus on the hand with everything else softened and then the fact that they are on different sides of a fence!!

For ISO400 that's quite grain free considering you're shooting a 350noisemachineD

You're most welcome. Well I can see the fence representing alot of different barriers throughout the ages as well, from old times to modern.

What an impact. Society shouldn't be by the color of race, gender, hair, gay, straight, etc...
This just goes to show how strong a heart can beat for someone else despite what everyone else says or does.

I can't say enough on this, they say a picture is worth a thousand words, this has so much more to say. Racism is a horible thing that people still live with today, if your hair is red, you don't get the job, laughed at at school.... jail. It's a sad and twisted. The picture shows that some peolpe look thru all of what's on the outside and what's on the inside. Keep up the good work

It's amazing how petty people can be, we are all the same on the inside

Wonderful piece. Great tones in the black and skin and very nice positioning in the frame. I also really like how the hands are being clasped from within the fence.

Voy a escribir en espaΓ±ol, porque mi ingles no llega tan lejos. Voy a intentar ser lo mas ordenada posible al escribir, asi un traductor puede ayudarte a leer lo que pienso.
Me parece fuerte, impactante y hermosa.
Use a translate please. My English isn't so good to say all that : D
