I feel this is related to independence by portraying mixed race relationships which are looked down upon in many communities therefore they are not following the "norm".

This shot looks impressive. It really conveys the emotion of separation.
Many times, a picture only looks good but getting a photo convey an emotion is rarely can be found.

wow. this is stunning- a beautiful message to it, and amazing skill incorporated in it. i love the framing, how the black outsides of the photo contrast with the skin color, on bOTH pairs of hands. I especially like the picture itself, as in the hands-holding-each-other-through-a-chain-link-fence. hands down, one of the best photos i have ever seen.
