Thanks for this, I always find it difficult to do portraits - I have never truly learned that. Mostly because all the littlest details can give a person a different expression or even look like another person (fraternal twin or distant relative or even totally unrelated). I'm always amazed at the skill of the people who can draw a person so he/she's not only recognizable but also has the same expression. That's the most interesting challenge in my mind.

Very nicely drawn and written! My problem isn't so much as drawing the eye... it is drawing an eye along with a face! Congratulations on the DD and thank you kindly for taking the time to make such an informative tutorial.

amazing : ) if you drew an eye on a large enough scale would it be possible to create a reflection in the eye? of anything really like a building of some sort or an object, any tips?
