Yesterday I uploaded a video showing how to draw the same character from three different angles. The goal was to help people who have trouble drawing their characters multiple times, i.e. they end up looking like slightly different characters each time.

Hey Mark, I have a quick question about drawing hair. My senior art show is coming up, and I'm trying to draw David Tennant from the british TV series, Doctor who. But I can't figure out how to get his hair. I can't figure out how to achieve this based off of your tutorials, which are fantastic none the less. Could you help me out?

Great as always! This helped me with a few problems I had with characters seen in different angles. I bought your first Mastering Manga and it's been helping me a lot, I'll be getting the second one soon. Also... how do you get the eyes to face the right direction? That's probably the biggest problem I have when I draw. Maybe it's easier for certain people...? I don't know. Anyways, thanks for uploading this and the video!

Hmm I should try this sometime , I'm actually in trying to make an anime character of my own. So if all goes well I'll have my first actual drawing sometime this year hopefully.

You've inspired me greatly, and I feel that my level of drawing skill has increased a lot since I started 2 years with Mastering Manga. My dream is to publish my own graphic novel series but right now I am only really good at drawing anime pictures... that, and I still need a lot of practice with drawing background scenes. I try to follow your latest videos every Friday and draw a long with your video. Can't thank you enough for the instruction you've offered to me and countless millions around the world who use your videos for inspiration and practice. If I could just get good enough to publish one single graphic novel series I would feel that I accomplished my goal and purpose for living.

I think even with drawing manga characters you still need a bit of practice. The eyes you draw are really really pointy.

I agree with you, my art is nothing special. I have a lot of room for improvement, but with time, dedication, and continual practice, I'll keep getting better with time.

im so sad!! I've been having trouble and needed to go back and look at my mastering manga books an ever since I moved THEY'VE BEEN MISSING!!!!I know I packed them! I looked all over the house before we left so I wouldn't forget my things but I can't find them! I tore the house apart! ugh.....

Why doesn't the mouth connect to the side of the face on the rightmost one?
It is true that knowing your character from every angle is most important.

It's a pretty common stylistic choice in manga actually; I think it brings a light touch to that part of the drawing.

I found that video so helpful and I think the picture is so pretty. I'll admit, it's still going to take me a while to be able to draw the same character from different angles and have them look 100% like the same character but I found the video really, really helpful.

OMG I love your book Mastering Manga! It really helped me create my own style, and understand the basics. I had the Christopher Hart book Manga For Beginners, but I was getting no where with that one. You are so talented!
