quite obviously a studio shot. But all the same, love the costumes, the composition, the shot and the expression/emotion

sorry not a studio shot, it was shot on a glacier in Alaska at about 6000 feet, had to fly up in a helicopter!

I think it is because I actually take studio lighting with me to shoot outside. It is one of the things that help create my "look" if you can say I have one.
So I can do things that look different than people working with reflectors and small flash units cannot. Like in this image the sun is actually behind her and casting a shadow forward yet she is light and not in shadow. That is really not a normal natural situation.
You have a good eye to pick up on the technical/ visual cues!

Ohhhh.... i see... no wonder the lighting didn't quite seem to tally with the natural situation in the mountains/peaks behind her.
