yet another print idea i have for botcon.this time i wanted to do my take on the upcoming war for cybertron video game characters.
i gotta say i had a lot of fun working on this one. i wouldn't mind doing another one when i get a bit more free time.
most of this image was created by looking at a few stills from the game and from pictures of the toys if anyone is wondering.
anyways, enjoy the line art until the colours are done

i just try and keep it really neat.

No, I mean after you scanned it.

i just scan it in B&W. so the lines should stay pretty crisp. if there are any specs on it, i just erase them out.

I find that my different projects tend to pull me all over the place. One minute, I'm writing a script. The next, I'm inking somebody's pencils. Or lettering a page for somebody. I just don't get the time in one nice, long run that I need to really sit down and crank out actual pencils and blow the dust off properly, if you get my drift.
But I'm working on it. My workload is getting lighter, and I'm focusing more.

haha well your art is amazing man, no matter what others say. My transformer drawings always come out stiff, I'm trying to figure out how to give them that smooth kinda feel like how your transformers are. Always look forward to new art from ya, keep up the great work man!

just practice inking the lines in one go. don't go over them repeatedly and you might get the smooth look your wanting.

Any suggestions on the kind of pens I should use? I'm just using a regular kind of office pen. I'm guessing that's not a very good kind of pen to use for art projects.

the pens i use are pigma micron pens by sakura. i also use prismacolor pens as well. but really its always best to use what your comfortable to use. the end result will be the same with whatever you like to use.

Yes I was wondering, very cool piece. The toys are prefect as models wish I had some of my own. I really loved the first gen toys from the TV show of the 80's.
