Description Couldn't quite get him totally centered.
I hope you like it.

EDIT: ** GOBSMACKED ** The DD is a real suprise to me but i am very, very chuffed about it! Thanks to all that felt this picture was worthy of being featured to the masses.

EDIT EDIT: I've set up a print for this shot as requested by a fellow deviant but my camera was accidentally in 1 Meg mode when i took this (and other) shot so i'm guessing the original is probably too small to be acceptable for print (Dumbass!).

Wow. That is an amazing and beautiful shot. When I first saw it I thought it was a painting or drawing of some sort and took a closer look when I saw it was actually a photo. I'm impressed. Nice shot.

nope, they exist, I saw them in longleat (kesington-England) there were 2 of them, do a google search on 'albino peacocks' and go to the image section, you'll be amazed.

oh don't worry.. .. its rare to see them.. like albino crows.. they are also magnificent, but due to their colour, they get killed in the wild.. albino peacocks are so nice to photograph on DULL rainy days, they brighten up the picture..

PErsonally, I think this is pretty wasjed out. THere is too much white saturating the image. I'm a contrasty kinda gal, and prefer the one at teh link ;Jiswyn posted. This is the link, if it got lost in the masses: [link]

MarkioS14 In reply to EmmaEsme [2005-04-05 22:44:50 +0000 UTC]

Very good point, i did add a bit of contrast but just to compensate for my camera (the image was too flat). Anymore and felt that it wouldn't be natural, The shot by ;Jiswyn is a bit too much for my liking but it's all down to personal preference i suppose. Anyway thanks for the constructive critisism, most appreciated.

wow...now, at first I questioned the DD...for doesn't this seem like a cliche shot? and yet...the color, the vibrancy, the detail in each and every feather - this is incredible. every facet just glows.

MarkioS14 In reply to insanexflame [2005-04-07 13:03:02 +0000 UTC]

To be honest i was amazed that is made a DD, personally it's not one of my own favourites so i see exactly what you mean, there isn't anything outstanding about it from an 'arty' perspective. But as the description says, it's mother nature at work here, not me so all kudos to the Peacock.
Thanks for you for the kind comment though!!

Pace In reply to ??? [2005-04-05 21:24:47 +0000 UTC]

I just HAVE to +fav this, it's just so amazing! The colour - WOW.

At first when I looked at it in detail I thought it was a bit of a shame that there was a small tuft of feathers on it's neck, because everything else was so perfect (obviously you can't help that), but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it, because it makes me think that no matter how beautiful something is, it still has it slight flaws.

Still, AMAZING photograph. And it looks centred to me!

MarkioS14 In reply to Pace [2005-04-07 13:04:57 +0000 UTC]

Yeah the tuft, didn't notice that when i took the shot. He is in a very good condition though, a great example of a peacock, i was lucky to be there at the right time. Thanks for the thoughtfull comments and fav, it means a lot!

thats amazing. love how the feathers kind of frames him inn, and the angle too, i have seen other pictures of those animals (that i cant remember the name of), and the angle sucks. but here the angle fits perfectly. i like how the eyes are watching you. a bit scary. and the colours of course. a really great picture, and concratulations with the DD.

When i say centered i was thinking his beak relative to his chest, just a bit. I suppose it would have looked weird if it was dead center.
