Here's some new stuff... This is Zach Howard: [link]and me on an upcoming Aliens title... Dark Horse gave me permission to post a few pages of it early.
Zach's work is amazing; it's truly an honor to get to ink him.

I like scanning in grayscale even straight black ink for print, with or without washes because it picks up the variations in the ink, plus even the tiniest line or texture doesn't fall out.
I've even gone to using thinner ink just to push that further. I think it gives more dimension to the inks and a softer look. Not as hard edged.
I still like black, but I enjoy doing something a little different.

Me too! But I definitely need a refresher course in washes; I'm actually asking Zach to do all the washes on this book because I haven't done them in years, don't want to mess anything up!

On a few of the later pages in the story, took your advice and did the wash. Turned out good too, so I'm happy! Great work on those origin pages btw- you and Dougie are a great team!
