Description
Mandelbulb3D v1.9.1: www.fractalforums.com/index.ph… and PSBased on my previous 'MonuMental Construction III' piece: markjaybee.deviantart.com/art/…
DEcombinate in Min nlin mode using: Menger3/SierpHilbert/AmazingSurf2/_reciprocalY3/ColumnsIFS/TilingBrickIFS plus additional composited SphereHMVoidIFS.
This piece illustrates a terrestrial reconnaisance party making first footfall on a newly encountered planet:
"On approaching the stellar system, the level of radiative signals was seen as a definite indicator of the presence of a highly advanced, technological civilisation.
However, as the exploratory fleet drew closer to the fourth planet - seemingly the source of the radio traffic - the signals rapidly diminished. On achieving the
surface, no sign whatsoever of this worlds inhabitants could be seen. Perhaps they were rather intimidated by what may have appeared to them as a huge
invasion fleet approaching their world?! We hope that with further investigation, contact can be made, and peaceful relations established...."
There's been a bit of a void in my recent 3D fractal postings, due to commitments to other - non-fractal - projects, but I'm back in the saddle again!
Something folks have mentioned regarding my past fractal pieces is the lack of people, vehicles etc. Well, in this one I think I've addressed that;
successfully I hope.
Most, but not necessarily all, of my future works will now feature some sort of 'organic/human' element. These will hopefully become more sophisticated
as time goes on - as you'd expect! - as I'll eventually be using non-fractal 3D modelling tools to create them.

Great overall and a perfect back drop for a Final Fantasy game (I have been playing them maniacally for (gasp) three years!)

Thanks Jenny, glad you like it! Actually, it's already been used as the cover for
a 'cassette' to accompany a forthcoming book on the history of Mastertronic games:

Thanks Steve! Lots of fiddling about to get this one 'right', but I reckon I know where I'm going with this technique now - I think....
Good to be back here on dA again too; been kinda busy with other stuff lately, no bad thing!
