So finally I have time to comment I really like this shot, by watching it I feel like looking at the essence of nature. It's really beautiful captured, a great work, showing off all the colours of blue, green, brown there are to find.

well done ! you used an ND8 and CPL and reached 60sec... but wouldn't it be enough with just the CPL on top of the lens for smooth water??

A CPL is anywhere between 11/2 to 2 stops depending on the brand. To be honest I cant recall what the baseline reading was, but to choose that combination I obviously needed more for the exact reason you statw, to smooth the water. It was getting late and the sun was starting to penetrate the valley (you can see on the left of the image. I wan't worried about the back falls it was the foreground I was concentrating on.

It hewlps me remember. Use the serttings as a guide only, each image stills needs to be thought about and use settings according to what you want to achieve.
