Description This is a sculpt I did for Virgin Comics. Is one of their comic book characters called "Ramayan" the worrior prince. It'll be a full color hand painted collectable figurine. This is based on the cover art from one of their comics called Rama painted by Alex Ross.
It's about 11 1/2" tall.

May I ask where you got the little beads? I've been wanting to incorporate little things like that into my own sculptures and I've looked all over the place, to no avail. I've looked in the various craft shops around here and the only thing I can find are beads for jewelrymaking, and they're all cut like a gem and look tacky. I can't find any that are smooth.

They were sent to me by the Virgin comics. Not sure where they got those.

That's to bad, I didn't realize that. Virgin Comics is new to this type of product. the Factory they used to produce this should have known better.

oh wow, what did you use for the blue "jewels" for lack of a better term.

is that an opalescent paint or are they made of a different substance and attached separately?

thanks in advance!

I just gotta ask, as I'm having huge problems with this issue:
How can you build it on such a small pillar? How do you make it hold the weight before it's dry?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MarkNewman In reply to TheSpinn [2009-06-28 17:27:01 +0000 UTC]

I sculpted the piece over a wire armature that was suspended from a support
armature coming out the back of the sculpt. and down the a wood base.
The fabric that flows down to the ground was sculpted separately with a strong
armature underneath. This is sculpted in Super Sculpey, a polymer clay that is cured
in an oven.
