Description
A fantastic dark shot of London's famous Tower Bridge. While it appears ancient, it is actually a product of Victorian engineering, a drawbridge with a pedestrian walkway across the top. It was built to compliment nearby Tower of London. This photo captures London's moody skies with a splash of sunlight hitting the bridge itself

I love this place. I have a few shots in my gallery from a trip to London, and one of the highlights of my trip was my tour at the tower ... and the walk across the bridge.
Wonderful location.

Thanks!
And I have no doubt you'll love it - London in particular, and Great Britain in general, is fabulous. You have my envy.
Thanks for the Favs as well!

I'm open minded, so everywhere I go, I'm impressed and I always have the eyes as a little child who discovers his present for Christmas... So I hope that my trip in the South-West of Great Britain will be wonderfull
Excuse me if I make mistakes, I'm french and my english is not so good, so please, be indulgent with me :/

Your English is far better than the little bit of French I remember - believe me. I could have tried to reply in French, but it would have been embarrassing!
With your outlook, I cannot believe anything other than you will have a great trip.

Thanks much! It's two years old, but I re-edited it while I've been sitting out waiting for the stitches and all to come out... I think I'm getting better at black and white...
But I can take no credit for those awesome clouds or that splash of sun on the bridge (other than standing there waiting for it).
The long way of saying thanks!

Outstanding. This is one of my favorite places to visit.
I took about 100 pics of this bridge on my last trip to London. But I like yours better.

Ah, Tower Bridge... one of the first things I saw in London. The first was the Tower of London itself. Right behind that was Tower Bridge. That was back in 2004. This photo was my trip back a little over a year later.
I'm glad you like it. I also have a Sepia version in portrait format. That one I have printed and framed in my living room.
I'm glad you liked! Thanks!

Great shot, lovely contrast. This isn't Scotland though?

What? Not Scotland??? That darn bus driver lied!
Yeh, actually it's not a new picture. I took a break at lunch yesterday to work on this one a bit. It's actually not a new submission on DA, just edited the deviation a bit and felt like it was worthy of letting watchers know that.
It's one of my fav shots of London. A moment of perfect light crossng the bridge and and all. Glad you liked!

There probably are a 1000 pictures just like it anyway.
I re-visited it because I was ODing on Scotland and I also decided to submit a print for it. Ironically, the one of the phone booth I took on my old digital point and shoot is the one with a sale and wishes and among the most viewed, so what the heck, might as well put up another London print...

I've stopped keeping track of what's sold and viewed, I don't think I've sold anything from my new prints.

If you've sold more than one print, your 100% past me. I don't obsess over it, but it's the calculating side of me that notices these things. It's all a big crapshoot here anyway. I noticed last week that one of my favorite shots of the Colloseum had virtually no comments or favs. This is one of only a handful that I've actually printed and framed and love. Granted, it could be that it reminds me of my trip. I'm in no way an impartial observer. But I experimented and made it my featured gallery shot, and it's gotten more attention in a week than in the past year. So crapshoot combined with exposure...

I don't think deviantArts prints administration help the artist out in any sort of impartial way either... and opening up the prints to everyone was possibly the worst thing they could do, in my opinion. Still, it's their baby so they can do with it what they will... I know I wont be staying here forever... but speaking of which I need to write a journal.

Yeh, just out of curiousity, I just browsed photography prints for a few minutes. And while there's some awesome work, the default setting of "popular" pretty much comes up the same small selection of artists. So, yeh, the main "problem" with DA is its success. More and more people joining and posting makes it harder and harder for anyone to get any notice at all. And I'm not saying that personally. I'm saying when I've had time to just skim through what's here on a given day (and that hasn't been recently), I'd come across some incredible stuff that had a handful of views.
Back to prints, if you sort on newest, yeh, there's definitely some questionable contributions... so, I expect you're right about tne prints for everyone probably being a questionable move... But as you say, their baby...

This community has sat through several such blunders... I'd left before, for a year, because of questionable management... but I'm too tired to bother anymore. I'll take my money, if I make any, and leave them to it.
