Description
Novembers submission and monthly winner for drawing challenge. Reference is of the DD rawV by GretaTu reference gretatu.deviantart.com/art/raw⦠Graphite pencil on A3 format Bristol Velum.
Tried indenting here ... maybe i won't do that again.

Thank you, i appreciate it. I'm sure you would do a great job on this Clive, i've just seen your gallery and added a watch .. very nice drawings. You can change the veil into something else if you want, the reference is a guide only. I used an old biro without it's ink holder to scribe some textural grooves and shaded lightly with 6B on top of them and then used some blutack to lift off the graphite until it looked right.. it's not perfect but it looks sort of see through

A dead Biro, what a good idea!Β I have in the past used the end of a paintbrush handle sharpened in a pencil sharpener, and more recently a knitting needle, but neither has been an unqualified success.Β I have just tried it and a dead Biro is far better, not least because it can be held and used like a pencil.Β It also gives a slightly wider and more defined impression than either of my previous methods.Β Thank you for this tip.

I will - just had a go at this one myself. I've gone for darkness and drama (as that's more my style) rather than photo-realism. That lace was impossible!

Wow this is incredible!!! Β Such a detailed professional work; I'm at loss of words, it's like a photo, I wanted to participate in that challenge too, but now I see that there's no point in competing with a work like this, my goodness, it's a real masterpiece!!!

My pleasure!!! It's really bloody amazing work!!! Yeah I did, I'm so glad I finished it by the deadline! It's very encouraging and Β excitable idea, I love how it's all organized, a real competition along with the other artists, really professional ones like you, but still you feel like you're given a chance and you have to go for it, it's kind of booster to me, a little bit straining. Sometimes I really need it, but I don't believe though that art can be fixed or determined, it's very vague to me, so it can't be judged only by ratings
