ohhh thats sooo cool! with all my sketches, i use like four pencils, usually 2H 5H HB and 4B, but what is a blending stick and jelly roll and what does it do...??

Thank so much for favoring a couple of my drawings ! (a blending stick is a tortillion, shaped like a pencil ~ jelly roll pen is like 'white out' giving you a white highlight)

Not hard to believe that it tooks 7 hours.
What I like most is:
1st her expression - like a cool shower after a hard day.
2nd the water - it seems as if there is real water on the picture, especially on her lips.
Did you take a photo as reference ?
And another question: What is a "blending stick"?

So glad you like this and thanks for 'favoring' it.
Yes I did use a photo to draw from.
Blending stump or Tortillons as they are called is
just tightly rolled paper shaped in to a pencil
(Google Image... 'tortillons' {and you will see})

Thank you for answering. I even known Blending stumps before, but didn't know the name. I thought they are only used, if you work with charcoal. So I've learned something new today

First off thank you for added my drawings to your favs (2 cars and this, 'Dripping Water) A "jelly roll pen" is a white liquid pen-like pencil almost like a 'white-out' brush, but in pencil form. I used it just a tad bit on this drawing on her right eyebrow and eye itself. Thanks again Jason !

Wow thanks for taking the time to reply, Mick so appreciated. Thanks for the explanation as well, it will certainly help me with my drawings. I keep wondering why my highlights don't seem as bright as what I have seen on yours and others. No prob faving genius!!!
Cheers
