This is what I submitted to the folks at cncnz.com today, for their C&C 10th anniversary wallpaper competition. Have been working on this pretty intensely for the past few days as the deadline drew closer. I found myself having a lot of trouble identifying a particular aspect of C&C games that I wanted illustrate as my wallpaper theme. It wasn't until last week that I got it together and finally decided on the Nod chem-warriors from the original game - they're just so much fun in a sick and twisted RTS kinda way. I found the quote to be pretty appropiate given the context.

Total composition took me the better part of a week, can't be any more specific than that I'm afraid. Loads of things that I would change about this piece if I'd had more time before the competition closed, but for a rushed job, I think it turned out alright in the end. I'm particularly pleased with the trooper's chemsuit, which was my first attempt at actually building up a character from a 2D silhouette, with lighting and texturing. This was almost entirely produced with Photoshop CS tools (the only obvious exception being the visor reflection)
