Description
The Dronmari-Class is a recent contribution to Starfleet made by the Andorian Corps of Engineering in a joint venture to design a robust and versatile craft for service deep in Federation space. To fulfill the need for a relatively small vessel to be produced in large numbers, the Dronmari design merges the Andorian focus on utility in shipbuilding and Starfleet's technological adaptability. This yields a highly versatile design making most of its limited size and crew complement.

General Information
The Dronmari unites the primary and secondary hull in a single, compact structure. Most internal space not devoted to the vessel's primary functions is arranged in modular compartments, able to accommodate a variety of scientific facilities or tailored quarters for diplomatic functions. The specific layout of each individual vessel of the class is dictated by the assignments it is most likely to be issued.

Mission Profile
The Dronmari-Class is primarily operated by the Administration & Relations branch of Starfleet, as well as Science & Exploration.
In service to the former, it finds itself typically deployed for diplomatic functions and VIP transport, for settling disputes and disruptions among member worlds of the Federation. In many cases, the vessel itself serves to provide a neutral ground for negotiations and its capabilities are often utilized in facilitating solutions to contested issues.

As part of the Science & Exploration branch, the Dronmari-Class acts as a first responder to any unusual phenomena and activity registered in Federation space. Stationed on Starbases and Sensor Hubs primarily, vessels of this class will be sent to deal with any unexpected events on short notice. For this purpose, it is more often outfitted with a multitude of general science equipment and a wide range of tools to deal with every likely encounter in its local sector. This includes a sizable armament for its size, despite hostile encounters being a rare occurrence.

Class History
The mission profile of the Dronmari-Class is one previously performed primarily by much older classes such as the Miranda-Class. Massive losses of these vessels during the early Dominion War created an opportunity for this role to be filled by a new top-of-the-line generation of Starfleet vessels.
This was a motion heavily supported by elements of the Federation advocating for Starfleet to show a stronger presence within its borders instead of devoting most of its resources on the expansion of the frontier. Andoria, as one of the founding members, was a dominant voice of this movement.
