The star of Undrabel was a fickle thing, an erratic blue giant violently spitting plumes of plasma far out into the inner system. Its interference was enough to scramble any navigational calculations and send droids attempting to cope with them into catatonic overload. Local spacers were accustomed to this, said to know the 'moods' of their azure sun. Outsiders, however, would find jumps and sub-light navigation a dire hazard at the worst, and at best a persisting annoyance to any operation.
It wasn't long before the Galactic Empire enlisted guides and pilots from the local mercantile guild, and pressed more into service when volunteers ran out. Those auxiliary navigators would soon become a vital resource, as the conflict around Undrabel began to unfold.
