Description
The Type 01112 fast attack- and interceptor craft 'Hainan' is a common garrison ship of the People's Liberation Cosmo Navy and widely deployed by the Union of Terran Free People's Republics. Its reputation as a swift and deadly adversary was cemented during the Yuanpei campaign when a Hainan pack took part in the valiant defense of a forward outpost against superior forces.
Commanding officers later commended the craft for its responsive systems, precise maneuver control, and resilience under prolonged combat conditions. As a result, the production line was expanded and several specialized variants were created.

Characteristics
Characteristically for Chinese craft, the Hainan has a long and slender hull, built around the main drive core. Relative to its size, the Hainan's engine power is far greater than that of any competing class of comparable tonnage. As a result, the ship's effective Delta-V during combat scenarios exceeds that of many rivals, allowing the ship not only to maneuver faster but also to engage in longer and more complex maneuvers.

The ship's versatile arsenal of guided missiles, torpedoes, and drone swarms take full advantage of the advanced electronics and guidance systems available to the PLASSF. Its launchers are designed to accommodate a wide range of projectiles, including frequently newly introduced experimental missiles and warheads.
Extraterrestrial Technologies have also been incorporated into various active defense measures of the craft, including chaff needle launchers and crystalline matrixes in rapid targeting acquisition utilized by the point defense systems.

Modular slots along the vessel's long spine allow for rapid refits and the replacement of parts for maintenance. Similar to many PLASSF vessels, any individual Hainan-class vessel effectively has a duplicate set of all essential weapons- and sensor modules that are switched out on rotation between assignment and repairs or restocking.
