Description
The officers of Gunstar Arete witnessed the collapse of Colonial Fleet Command. During the first wave, Baltar's betrayal paralyzed the fleet, the backdoor rendering near ninety-five percent of all systems inoperable. By the time the savior transmission went through, they had lost already half of the fleet. In the following twilight hours of humankind, the remnants of the colonial military were stunned by the loss of so many, the chain of command broken in a thousand places. It was clear the Arete would not receive instructions.
At 1100 hours, the commander decided to take matters into her own hands. With emergency repairs underway and the system network severed completely, the Arete's engines sparked back to life. Emerging from Helios Gamma's outer nebulae, the Gunstar set a course for the inner system. There were still active beacons calling from Scorpia, and the Arete would come to their aid.
