OLC hasnt stopped. Just trying to mix things up a little ... with speedies, long-uns, pencil colours and pencils. I kinda like everything so I think my work should reflect that!About an hour for this one, all comments welcome and appreciated, thanks! And thanks for the support
edit: now added a crumbly texture ... I think thats what was missing!

Man I've got to learn to paint faster. Even when I'm doing a simple character concept it takes me more than a week. Knowing me, at this point I'd probably spend a week on every frame of the novel. That way I'd be done in...years.

Im not sure how much of it comes from TRYING to paint faster. For me, I paint to the speed that I do because of limitations - largely came from when I was at work i'd only have an hour at lunch, 20 mins for eating so id have to knock out a picture in 40 mins.
Neccessity truly is the great motivator! Also ... i really hate 'going back' to pictures. I feel I have to finish it in one sitting - I guess thats a strength and weakness.

Well I finally faced my fear of posting character ideas on the net. At least, with one particular piece I did. It's up if you want to take a look at it. But...well, right now I'm basically just making some complete character concepts for the same two characters I've been working on. I've also written out a basic outline for the introduction and the first chapter. After this comes MORE concept work and more outline-writing. Ya, I've got a long way to go.

I love the lighting and the tiles (?) crumbling away from her headpiece, you have a great symmetry and balance to it (makes her seem like royalty) and her lip piercings are sexy as fuck too
