well, its like, if Masamune have 3 best men, Yukimura have 10 best men (altho among the 10, only Sarutobi Sasuke & Kirigakure Saizo were the one that famous)

yah, she hate him cause of that (she's the worst mother ever)
since she thought that by being handicapped, masamune cant be the next leader of the Date clan, for he can be easily killed in the war half blinded like that
so she simply abandon her own elder son & force her husband (ie Masamune's dad) to choose their 2nd son, Kojiro, to be the next leader instead. thus, masamune was raised by Katakura Kojyuuro (altho thx to that, his "bond" with Kojyuuro was unbreakable).



yes, masamune's childhood name is Bontenmaru
& after his coming of age ceremony at 12yo, he got his "adult name" which is Masamune.

juz like Yukimura's complete name which is "Sanada Saemon-no-Suke Yukimura", Masamune's complete name is "Date Tojiro Masamune" tho

yup, Yerumune & Yoshi-hime were his dad & mom
while, Kojyuuro has been with Masamune all his life, since Masamune was a mere 5yo kid, & Kojyuuro himself if just 15yo teen (altho during that time, one is consider an adult after one reach 12yo ); & the 2 have been together till Kojyuuro was sick & unable to accompany his lord to the Battle of Osaka at 1614 - summer 1615, & have his position replaced by his own son, Katakura 'Kojyuuro' Shigenaga, the 2nd Kojyuuro of the clan.
in the later year of 1615, winter, the 1st Kojyuuro, Katakura 'Kojyuuro' Kagetsuna, passed away at his age of 58



during that battle, Terumune juz died not long before that (u probably know, that it actually Terumune who forced his own son to kill him & his enemy who use Terumune as shield from the attacking Masamune); so Masamune probably lost his cool & calmness during war for he wants to avenge his dad's death (or in fact, avenge for forcing him to kill his dad), causing him to lost concentration to his surrounding, which might be the reason that cause him to be surrounded by the enemies
so at time, Kojyuuro who always fighting near his own lord, rushed forward & proclaimed himself as Masamune so the enemies will target him instead.
then, Shigezane who later successfully attack the other side of the enemy's army flank, has cause the war to turn side.
Not long after, Date clan, whose army only have around 3000-5000 men, won this war against the alliance army of the Ashina & Mogami (& another clan which i cant remember its name atm ) which have like 30,000 men in total




Genjiro probably is Yukimura's childhood name (i cant remember his childhood name atm, but i'll tell u once i found my book bout that) xD;;;
but meh~ their middle name is not that common to be used/known, nor being called by others, altho the greates exception was made for Kojyuuro, cause that is his middle name xDDD

nope, he didnt hate his fater
cause once he was abandon by his own mom, his dad was the only family member that he trusts & can be depends on. & Terumune was said to love his own son whatever/however Masamune is, which explain why he still choose Masamune as his heir despite of being
half blinded.


besides, Masamune at his young age, was said to be very intelligent & wise too;
esp when Terumune bring Masamune to a temple, & saw a god statue with a face that look like a demon
then Terumune heard his 7-8yo son ask the priest why the god's face is scary, the answer he got was "cause the god must be looking scary to scares off the real demons, but still, deep down, he is a kind hearted god"
after hearing the priest's answer, Masamune (or Bontenmaru) replies, "when i'm adult, in the outside, i want to be looking scary like a demon, but deep inside, i will be a person with the kindest heart ever, just like this god!"
& that time was said to be reason why Terumune keep favoring his eldest son than his younger son

Sanada Jyuuyushi is infact still a questionable existence
since each of that 10 ninjas of Sanada were said to came from different ninja village/clan, their biodatas arent properly listed like Hattori Hanzo or Fuuma Kotaro.
& bout that Kurohabaki, i never heard nor read bout it even when i visit the Date Masamune museum or the Sendai museum, so that one probably never exist
