Description
EOS 60D | EF-S 15-85 @50 | 1/8s | f/6.3 | ISO 100 | Marumi CPLWent for something a little different for this image. A few weeks ago at the height of fall foliage season a friend and I went down to Shenandoah National Park for some hiking and to catch the foliage. It didn't work out so well in the park due to the crowds, so we left and searched for better spots.
As we were driving down a small road in our search for landscapes and fall colors, I saw this grove of trees with some absolutely stunning yellows and reds up top. I was planning on making my way up to the trees with my wide angle lens to capture some receding lines making their way high up into an explosion of color.
Unfortunately, the trees were on private land and it was blocked off by a barbed wire fence and some pretty thick bushes leading up to the trees. Not being super adventurous I decided to get creative and although the abstract tree shapes have been done plenty of times before (and even by myself) I thought this scene had potential to stand out.
So, "Point of Ignition". Use your own interpretation but to me I see a row of matches exploding into flame. And as always, enjoy!

I definitely see the matches.
Though it's been done, I think this is a fine piece, Matt.

Thanks LeeAnne! Unfortunately I'm at the point right now where I am lucky if I get one afternoon a month to go shoot, so its time to dig through some of the recent archives... every once in a while a gem like this will pop up!
