Seems a little odd for a night elf.

Because it seems that the lore stresses that night elves are quite savage. Not a big deal though, and she does look rather cute

The point was for her to be cute. A player's character doesn't have to follow lore 100% of the time. Besides, I have never seen a Night Elf in any fan or Blizzard produced art be "savage" other then in a combat situation. Otherwise, they are shown as graceful and wise.
