Description
The little embroidered toadstoolβ¦.mushroom? Wasn't originally attended to be made into a box, I had meant it for a coin purse, but I decided that I would be too upset at the prospect of the embroidery getting to damaged from everyday use. That said I could of made it into another picture, but I was in the mood to make something a little more challenging. So here is the little fabric covered box, with a padded cotton lining.
Size: 9cm squared with a 5cm depth (external) - 8 cm squared with a 4.2 depth (approx.)
Materials - Linen, Liberty Tana Lawn, stranded cottons, ribbon, card, felt, thread.

Really lovely! Where did you get the box? Or did you make it yourself?

No I made the box entirely from scratch, its fabric covered card, and all pieces are slipstitched together. It's a mathmatical pain in the arse to work out.

Ooh wow, yeah, that's why I thought the box must've been pre-made. Kudos, then!

It's so cute! Pretty boxes are always good - useful but beautiful. I love the little bit of ribbon to help you open the box too.

Now that is absolutely great! I really like it.
The mushroom is cute and the fabric is adorable. Too bad the little musrooms on the fabric are not that visible inside the box itself.

Thanks sweetie, and yes I know what you mean, but unfortunately the actual mushroom/toadstools only appear very randomly and are very few on the fabric design it self.

Very nice little mushroom. It works well as a box. I know a cousin who would just love this.

That's a great practical use for a pretty bit of embroidery like this! I like the effect of the running stitch 'frame', very simple yet finishes it off so nicely
