Description
Tie-in pic for Scorch's chapter of the Pokeroid story. Unlike Accel, who was rather surprised with his new form, Layne is actually a lot more pleased with his robot form, as well as feeling a lot more enthusiastic. He definitely feels he'll get used to this new form, though that doesn't mean he can't go back into his human form, since he can return to it and change back into this form any time he wants.Tie in to this story: Pokeroids: Scorch the Braixen (Part 2)

I can see what you mean now, the flames coming out of the ears resembling Flame Stag's fire antlers, though I wasn't thinking of the boss at all when I drew this character, but Mega Man has been a huge influence on my robot designs, mostly the Zero and ZX series rather than Classic or X. Interestingly, this design does have a bit of Zero in him as well (X series, not Zero series), namely the shoulder pads and laser sword.

At least it was smoother than Hale's first transformation.

Heh, I remember when we did that RP. Of course, Layne/Scorch was at least warned in advanced and read the instruction book, while Josh/Accel hastily jumped straight to the transformation blind.

Love the design! Where's the stick/wand in his tail? Or does he not have one?

Well his arm is covering it right now, but it's actually a sword: Braixen Model Pokeroid

Interesting you say that, the designs of the Pokeroids were heavily inspired by the bosses from Mega Man Zero and ZX, though the concept evolved into it's own separate thing over time. In fact, the Mavericks from the Mega Man games were pretty much where my love of anthro animal robots started.

Ah, awesome! I thought the concept was inspired by Megaman.

Actually, it was, described in the very first Pokeroid pic's description. The concept was inspired by how you could transform into the bosses in the second ZX game, though it was originally meant to be a one-shot, I liked how it came out and the concept evolved from there into it's own thing.

Yep. Some one-off concepts become successful projects!

Yeah, and there are many physical traits they have to their designs too, such as on this Braixen Pokeroid, there are lights on his cheeks which will light up and glow whenever he speaks to give the implication of when he's speaking (since his mouth doesn't normally move). His nose also gets wet like an animal nose does.

Interesting. Like certain cartoon robots, they have a mouth, but can't move it. Color flickers on and off to show speaking.

Yeah, that's where I got that from, since I wanted to make my robots more "robotic", especially since none of them are human-based robots, and I don't see many anthro animal robots around, be they Pokemon or real world animals.

Yeah... I wish they made some of those in cartoons and video games...

That's the very reason why I make anthro animal robots, to fill in that void.

Scorch: Well it's definitely comfortable and easy to adapt to this form. Talking in it is a strange feeling, especially with my mouth being unable to move, but I have no problems with it! Nose feels a bit funny though, rather cold and somewhat wet, yet I can smell things better with it for some reason. I do need to move around in it and see what functions it has.
