Im glad I stumbled upon this. Excellent! I see the years of work you put into this. Nice details and the likeness! I dig the colored bird, I think it rep. beauty as opposed to the rugged, rough rhino. Plus I think it wouldve gotten 'washed away' if done in b&g. I really appreciate stippling cause of the patience and 'true' craftmanship. Nice work!

The Yellow-beaked Ox Peckers are usually not this yellow on the back. Their breast area is more of a dusty ochre color. I used water color to paint it, and had not painted in quite a while. The head and wings are more of a grey than brown, but the sunlight in the photo was very direct and taken around noon in Africa, so there was some wash out.
