Description
The first of 5-7 images for the "Extraction" comic, to be produced as part of my Drawing 500 class.
This character reflects my prefered gaming style; calm coordination, support, and defense.
+ I added a little bio box. I'm not sure if it looks better or worse this way.

Character name: "Major" or "Master" or "Big Red"
Based on: My persona Master Oki Akai
Rank: Major
Role: Head of Rescue Operations for the PMC (Private Military Contractor)
Position: Commander and Defense (Rear)

EQUIPMENT:
Armor: Level V Assault Class body armor and heavy Kevlar suit. (Normally you'd wear a helmet with this position) Carries a battery pack in the back armor piece.
Primary Weapon: M16A4 with M203 40mm Grenade Launcher

REFERENCES AND NOTES:
M16A4/A2 Assault Rifle
The upper shell is from an M16A2. Why? because I see no point in carrying the extra materials and weight for a screw on carrying handle, even if the weight is "negligable". Why do I keep the handle? Because it raises the sight to a more comfortable position for me. The point is, it's still a 3-round burst.
Why do I stay with the old M203 instead of the new version? Because I like the barrel housing better than anything else out there. This is about aesthetic preferences above ergonomics. And some people may attribute it to a PREDATOR reference. It is not, though that film was very instrumental in my development.
And I deliberately remove the grenade sight so I don't have to draw since I'd never use it.

18in. Combat Bowie
THIS however IS a PREDATOR reference. Taking directly from the movie blade itself. I have yet to decide if or how it gets used though.

OPSAT Main Unit
This is a reinforced tablet PC. The design was inspired by the equipment In STARGATE ATLANTIS. I chose this design to replace the PSP/PDA looking handheld devide that would strap onto his leg.

Tactical HUD
This is the only truely fictional device this character has. Though the technology does indeed exist to create similar devices. One that is as compact and Hi-Tech as this does not yet exist outside of video games. (to the best of my knowledge) You might see G.R.A.W. for a similar device.
The HUD here displays map data and communication info uploaded through the OPSAT Main. It keeps him from looking at the OPSAT screen all the time.
