So, uh, doodle for Maid Day: 1.1k views. GMOD thing released several days later: 5k views. I see how it is. :/

Well, I promised I'd show off more of Marissa, and so I have! First time I've done one of these reference things myself. As you can see I...have, a ways to go. I need to get back into scanning these and redoing them digitally, get some more mileage out of them. Anyway! This is Marissa, she is Traveller's "other half", as it were. I'm planning a story that is more or less an origin of sorts, but let's go over some basics;

As it turns out, being an Aether-borne clone of the original progenitor of the Warmonger Condition, having been created BY that very same progenitor in a new form to exist as he was and little else, takes a toll on your mental health and sense of identity. The Traveller we follow today is but a facsimile of the original, for that original became Karsum and spread the plaga as far as it has. Traveller is therefore a little angsty over the whole thing; he didn't exactly ask to be the figurehead in all but validity, and being the guy who accidentally unleashed a plague of suffering and trauma is a big burden to bear. So when he went off-grid to get away from it, he tried to NOT be Traveller for a while. But then, the question arose.

If he wasn't the Traveller...who was he, exactly?

This is a question that plagued him for a long time, even when he eventually embraced the mantle. His consent in creation or not, Karsum was right about one thing; the worlds did need someone like Traveller. But then, what about the times when it didn't? As he rejoined the fold and set about the Warmonger Civil War, he pondered this in solitude, where even his new assistant Ells wouldn't know. Eventually, he felt that he should sometimes become...someone. Anyone. Just not HIM. And he wanted that someone to be as far as possible from him. Even in terms of...gender.

It took a few trial runs and failures (won't go into details, as a lot of that aforementioned story revolves around it), but eventually, the persona was finalised and Marissa was born. Being Genderfluid, Traveller switches between the two personas when needed or when he feels like it; Traveller being for "work" (vigilantism, fighting in the civil war, general day to day stuff) and Marissa being for "play" (basically just lounging around or getting into weirder adventures). It's achieved by fairly loose-fitting clothes, a long skirt, makeup and contacts to hide the more obvious Warmonger marks, a wig and a voice changer that runs on "D'Aether Technology". It's overly conspicuous for a reason.

I must be honest, I am proud of this design a lot. To the extent that I've been obsessed with it for a while. And that's kind of weird because I tend to keep out of "Gender politics" stuff. I'm respectful to those who are part of it, of course. It's what you do that matters to me, not who you are. But we've all been on social media. Discourse around topics get ugly at light speed, and I do not want a part of that. I don't even like talking about it, I try to keep this account politics free, 'cause y'all are here for the angst and the violence. I...guess I understand if you're annoyed or upset by this change, and you are free to ignore it or consider Marissa and Traveller separate characters. But I would reconsider any inflammatory comments and for fuck's sake don't call it "woke". That phrase lost meaning eons ago. Just, keep an open mind on all of it, yeah?

That said, if you call her a Trap or a Femboy, I will fucking stab you.
