It's December, boys! And you know what that means. Just like how The Carey defrosts in time for the holidays...SHE returns. Though admittedly after last year it's more subdued. Not exactly sure where to go after she basically BECAME Christmas last year. But a tradition is a tradition, so off we go.

So...Digital Circus. Made by someone I admire, produced by someone I loathe. And I...actually, really like it. Putting aside my gripes with Sunset and SMG4, I really like Digital Circus. Everything about it honestly feels like the breath of fresh air that Glitch needed. The bright and colourful aesthetic with a hidden underlying eldritch side usually isn't my cup of tea. Like I dislike Pibby because I find the idea of "take a kids show and make it edgy and rancid" kind of boring and unpleasent. But TADC does it rather well, mostly because its cast of torture dolls (and for once in my history with SMG4 that term is being used literally rather than bitterly metaphorically) are in on the joke (quote unquote) and handling it in different ways.

If I had to pick a favourite character, it would almost certainly be Caine. Not only is Alex Rochon an absolute treat to listen to in the role, but Caine is just...fun. Wonderful, chaotic fun. He's a proper lunatic, that's for sure, but he makes it genuinely entertaining to do so. And it helps that, unlike a lot of "haha I will torture these hapless humans for fun" types, he DOESN'T do it out of malice. He's just an AI after all, so he doesn't understand human behavoir. He TRIES to entertain and comfort the others, but he struggles to understand HOW to. Like scouring the internet and linking to...my DA page to make another Exit door. That...didn't work out. XD

Oh yes and forgive his cane being...stupidly big in the first panel. For some reason his bodygroups involve two sizes of cane and I picked the wrong one first time. Didn't notice until afterwards. Still, he can have a cane in either hand without the need to constantly repose it alongside him, so that's pretty NEAT.
