Description We had to do a fictional dog species for my creature design class. I thought it would be cool to see a realistic depiction of the legendary Fu Dog. Enjoy

I really love your orthographic studies, this one and the lipizzan are my favourite!

I can't read most of the text, though: some strokes are too small/thin and hardly show up on my screen... What does it say?

Thanks very much for the compliment

As for the text, yeah. The assignments were created by a different teacher than who currently teaches the course these are all for. This guy tends to want the text small and understated since the artwork is the point of the project. which, I can see that point, but it makes for cruddy display online

This one reads:
"The Fu Dog, also referred to as the 'lion' dog due to its mane-like fur, is a creature steeped in lore. Though fierce in appearance, these dogs are domesticated, coveted by royalty throughout the East for their loyalty and intense protectiveness of their master. They are creatures granted the very special skill to detect and defend against demons. According to some legends, these creatures may, in fact, be the very defenders of all Heaven and Earth."

Its basically a fictional summary of the breed as if it exists. Most of it is based on genuine eastern tradition, primarily from China.
