this drawing is so old, when I first drew it I would have never believed you if you told me they were actually going to put Thrawn in a canon work
Thanks for commenting anyway!

My drawing style is, shall we say, heavily influenced by anime. But don't tell the Grand Admiral that.

I concur, I like the shape and style of katanas as well. However, I fear that my interest in these swords that shows in my stories (two of the characters in my Star Wars fanfic have katana-shaped blades
) could mislabel me as a wacky Japanophile. I like the blades for their shape, their function, and their size, NOT because they're strictly from Japan, lol!

My father's a Japanophile, so I have a little more tolerance for weeaboos than most of the internet does.
And you could say that katanas have existed in the Star Wars universe anyway... the long-lost Katana Fleet, anyone? [link]

True. But I'd rather not add to the stereotype, if I can help it.

Or he could just appreciate it as the work of art it is...
...nah, he could cut Rukh in half with it.

I learned from watching anime that a simple katana can slice bullets in mid air, cut a tank in half, and chop less worthy swords right off at the hilt.

Well of course they can. Katanas are Japanese lightsabers, after all.

They're not as random or as clumsy as a blaster and they're an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.
