First, I have to give props to ~fifi-fu for letting me use her fan art as a base for this piece.

Before the Moon Kingdom was founded there existed a time in Sailor Moon canon known as the Sailor Wars, a terrible conflict spanning the entire galaxy (universe?). We know that Chaos pitted tainted Sailor Soldiers against one another in an epic game of chess, but as to what that war might look like during the time period, only Naoko Takeuchi really knows.

What This story centers on are two characters given cameo roles in my current work, Bishojo Senshi Sailormoon: Yugre no Eien, Nix and Hydra. (Two new moons founded to be in orbit of binary dwarf system Charon/Pluto in 2005) These characters, thanks to a small pocket of feverish fans yearning to know more about them has earned the telling of their story in the upcoming short Bishojo Senshi Sailormoon: Sonata of Yesterday.

The story will show us the individual origins of both Nix and Hydra, each staring on a separate world of their birth, bearing witness firsthand to the Sailor Wars. They are mortal victims in a sailor-suited war for all creation, each with harrowing lives that I will share with you in time.

But there is hope for them in such a dark time - a glimmer of promise in that place newly born, the Moon Kingdom. A chance at last to put away the nightmares that haunt them, a future worth living, and if they have only this night, it just might be the night they meet, and fall in love for all time.

This will be my first foray into yuri writing, so ladies please, I am wearing a pair of shoes I can't possibly walk in, so let me know along the way if I might stray. Can a guy write good yuri? We will see, in any event.

That being said, in the near future I hope you will all join me as I tell the story of two girls in a nightmare war, seen for the first time through the eyes of the ordinary dreamers, not the champions of love and justice. Through them well see the rise of the White Moon, the beginning of the Silver Age, the sin of Serenity and the stage being set for their appearance in the previous work. It will be a pleasure to give you all that which you have wanted, their story. Nix and Hydra, I promise to tell it right. ^_~
