Can't leave it at that. This photo is too good for that. This photo is a masterpiece. And I mean a masterpiece is the full sense of an outstanding achievement. It's Art at it's finest.
And the title is most inspired.

I was already jumping over this while clicking through the latest and greatest of new deviations in my message-box...because from the preview I thought "well, just another beautiful portrait of a moody expression in b/w" . Which doesn't mean something "bad" at all, but usually isn't dragging me back to leave a comment of push the +add button.
But something here did drag me back and while I'm typing I try to formulate in the back of my mind what it was. And I guess it is mostly the richness of that hoods black (or dark grey, if you like). It is amazing how its material comes out and how great it stands from the background even though the contrast to it is pretty soft. And from here my eyes are lead to the contrast of that weighty, soft, floating fabric to the wonderfully accentuated face which is just enough exposed to deliver a feeling for its expression... and everything is balanced perfectly; light and shadow, the shades of grey, the obscurity and the visible...even these cords seem to submit to the composition while following their path over face and hand,....
geez....I have to stop, before I'm getting a spam-stamp.
But I don't want to leave without saying what a wonderful model you found to realize your vision. Her impassioned but yet modest expression is rather simply to describe with: Perfect.
