Description The Fallout 4 announcement was enough to finally make me post this. Started some weeks ago, but finished it just now.
The Enclave would play a great part in the story, but unlike Fallout 2 or 3, the faction wouldn't be downright "evil". Their affiliation and role in the New California Republic would in the end be determined by the player him/herself.

The rapid growth of the New California Republic has been it's sickness - the two-headed bear left its mark, burrowing its claws and dividing its attention to too many places in the world. Now, these deemed less-important communities of the NCR are beggining to starve, starting rebellions, creating gangs, becoming raiders or mercenaries. NCR is attacked on all fronts, both by its enemies - Cesar's Legion, The Brotherhood of Steel, and by itself. The once role-model community is slowly becoming the chaotic arena of survival...
There are many places still unnacounted for in this vast territory, some of them too irradiated since the Great War, some hidden away from plain sight, in the mountains, cannions or gorges. World has changed again, and these places are being slowly revealed by adventurers, scavengers, NCR soldiers, raiders and others who wish to explore the ruins of the ancient world for their own gain...
There are weak signals, unreadable messages spread across the wasteland of California, appearing in random locations at a random time... or so it would seem - maybe there's a pattern?

This is my own fan-fiction and is not related to Bethesda's Fallout 4!

Good for what it is but it seems like you just took the fo2 cover and remade it. Also cinematics seems to be an out of place menu in a fallout game. J j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j I j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j j

I hope that we can all agree that we are all waiting for bethesda's E3 conference and hope that the holy and mighty Pete Hines and God Powered (Tod Howard) will bring us a good ,maybe even great game that we all can sink our teeth into and loose even more of our precious time and money with and it is nice to see that one of my favourite 3D artists makes finally something to the topic and once again your textures look good and your lighting is decent but the backround sticks out like a swordthumb because it looks more like a picture that someone hang behind an enclave soldier and a bit of rubble rather then an actuall landscape behind them. And I think that I know why.

1 because I can not picure him standing on the ground and more like an elevated platform.

2 because the angle is a bit to top down and as a result it looks like he his under you and therefor looks less like a thread. In the original fallout title screens the camera under the person and the menu is a more in the middle of the screen (Y not X ).

3 because the backround looks rather blurry and it gives me the feeling that the photographer wanted to photograph the soilder which is weird since he is not directly in the focus and left a fourth of the screen is unoccupied.

X-01 from Fallout 4 is a bit different, I don't really like the changes artist did to the helmet.
Still, the Bethesda said themselves that X-01 isn't really the classic Fallout 2 Advanced Power Armor... just one of many inconsistencies they introduced into the franchise.
Easy to see that this company does all it can to cut itself from the legacy of the classic Fallout games and Black Isle... and they're doing it wrong

Kilka razy przeszedłem Tactics (ach, gdyby to był erpeg z dialogami i w miarę nieliniową fabułą...) i parę modów do niego - Awaken, Enclave i jeszcze coś.
Mutacje pokroju FOOS i Shelter pominę milczeniem .

As for me, this part of armour presented on the pic looks perfect - details+proportions+textures. Background also fits well here. Shakin' your experienced hand, buddy! .)

PS. Wish they would release F4 on old-good F1-2 engine... well, maybe a bit improved though...  Ah, derams...   .D

Yeah, I'm also the one old-school Fallouts fan ^^ Even though I like the new ones, I think F1 and F2 were the best.

Oh god,NOT THE ENCLAVE AGAIN  !But seriously if in they bring back the Enclave in Fallout 4 as the main villain then I loose all faith in Bethesda.

matamb3d In reply to SergeantPanther [2015-06-10 04:46:45 +0000 UTC]

I think that it's possible but only as a very small part, like in FNV. Maybe as an unimportant side-quest or something.

SergeantPanther In reply to matamb3d [2015-06-10 05:06:39 +0000 UTC]

This could be possible but after the enclave was already the villain in Fallout 2 & 3 it should be left as a little side faction, but it seem that the institute is will be Fallout 4's main antagonistic faction.

| Awesome job as always Grimous! Really love the classic through back for this menu. Hopefully we'll see a bit of Enclave Remnants hiding out in Boston or the DLC. Oddly enough the mod we were working on actually was going to portray the Enclave in the very same light you explained above. Enclave survivors simply trying to exist rather than take over the former United States, but they're being continually hunted by the BoS/NCR. Keep up the amazing work, your skills seem to improve drastically every time you post a new image.

On another note, I've started messing around with Blender (eventually will get MAX) and have finally gotten used to the controls. Are there any tutorials you'd recommend for beginners? |

Thanks man! Long time no see ^^ Glad you like my work, always a pleasure to speak to you and share a little fan-boying over Fallout haha
That's awesome, I'd really like to see the Enclave with some complicated moral choices, not the fanatical remnants of the ancient USA.
I haven't used any tutorials for a long time now, so I can't say I could recommend any... Sorry

| You're quite welcome, and it's certainly been quite some time Matt! Definitely nice to hear from you as well. Absolutely can't wait for F4 to get here, and to see the content we'll be getting at E3. What'd you think of the preview thus far?

Would you still be interested in working on the project? I know you kinda joined a while back, but everyone else got busy with their own lives and such. Currently we just have a concept artist, a weapon/vehicle modeler and myself. So having someone with your talents would be of great use to the mod. As of right now it's set in a timeline where the events of Fallout Tactics is still canon, so you'll be seeing a lot of assets remade from it.

No worries at all! I just wanted to ask that's all. If anything comes to mind just let me know. Always looking for new content to help me learn how to navigate Blender and improve my skills. |

I think that it looks pretty good, but I didn't like the "epic" music the trailer had. I'll always wish for the oldschool dark/depressing atmosphere that old Fallouts had. There's no such feeling as launching F2 again and hearing Mark Morgan's music.
Still, the graphics improved a lot, I think this is the further enhanced Skyrim engine, so it's good, not so Oblivion-like as F3 or NV.
There will be a lot of mods of course that will make F4 more like the original games, but from what I gathered in Skyrim, if Bethesda makes some nice conclusions and improvements to the overall feel of the game, then we may have one of the best RPGs. I say that because Skyrim was waaay better than Oblivion, it had this return to Morrowind feel. So, let's hope that this will be the case with F4 too - return to the origins

I'm always interested, it's just the matter of not having enough time. There's really a LOT on my head right now, so I can't make any commitments, even if I wanted to

If it was taking place in California or around there, then this story would make sense. However, almost everything is pointing to FO4 taking place in Boston, including the announcement itself. Since the Enclave was completely obliterated at the end of FO3(if you bought the Broken Steel add-on), the Enclave could not play a part in FO4. Also, in FO3, the Enclave weren't "evil" they were just the antagonists.

I'm not taking Bethesda's current F4 story into account here, I'm just imagining my own, set in this world. And they weren't totally obliterated in FO3, because you can find the Enclave remnants in FNV. Using imagination, I have a little story in my head that the Enclave could have survived in the California region, in an undiscovered location. Yes, antagonists, but in my F4 story, it wouldn't be 95% players' choice to stand againts them. It would really be a hard moral decision here. Thanks for commenting

Ah, okay. Well, the Remnants weren't even really Enclave. They were children of Enclave officers from the Oil Rig, and as such, knew about the Enclave(from what I know).

And as for my opinion on your art, did you take the menu from FO3 and the visuals from FO2, and create this? I swear I've seen this entire thing before, just in different bits and pieces.

matamb3d In reply to b133d4u [2015-06-09 20:14:59 +0000 UTC]

No, I made the armor myself on 3ds max, basing on FO2 menu art and in-game armor.
Used the Fallout font for the text.
And used the background image, mixed in photoshop, added some dust/scratches textures.
Check out my gallery and Fallout folder, you'll see the entire armor.

Remnants actually served in the Enclave in the FO2 time. The older lady even flew in few missions related to FO2 story in her vertibird, and she crashed near Klamath (there's a Vertibid there in FO2).
