Description
I'm in the process of finalizing the materials and doing some test renders. I've modified the helmet & gorget. The sword is actually a one handed longsword and back there just for fun.Blender - GIMP - Octane

Thank you very much for your kind words!!
I have a wip thread about this project on blender artists: [link] though in reality I havent posted much of my works on Blender forums. This is probably because I use mostly Octane for rendering and not BI or Cycles (but this will change as Cycles matures more and more).

Yes, the helmet is definitely German, though I'm not sure about the rest. I used references from all over the place...

Thanks!
For some stuff Octane is exceptionally good, for others not so. And yeah, I would prefer to use AMD, but I'm stuck with Nvidia...

Thank you
It's still wip because there are details that need corrections (like leather and other things not visible here). Also the background is just something thrown fast together...

Yeah! You finished. I also like what you did with the gorget. It looks much more 'correct'.

Thanks I made the gorget (there is another technical term for that in this case, but I don't remember it right now) part of the helmet and that makes the whole thing a bit simpler to look and manage.

Don't worry. I forget names all the time. I especially have difficulty remembering the differences between pauldrons and spauldors.

Thanks. I was thinking if there is maybe too much of those golden details...? Maybe I should remove the big circular pattern on the pauldron..

Really great work. The textures are spot on!
I'm hooked on this Picture, would like a print of this if you make it available!

Thanks! This is just a fast WIP (the background is not really great). I'll do a final render of this shot and make it a print.

If I could make a critique then it would be the background.
I'll be looking forward to seeing the final piece!
