hi im terrible at keeping chaosverse spoilers under wrap, especially when it involves a) my favourite characters and b) robots
i wrote a long explanation on tumblr before, but: the chaosverse adaption of colours is kind of a bunch of other games slapped together, including lost world? so tails gets kidnapped, roboticized, AND gets mind controlled using negative colour power all in one go, which is. very much not ideal. hes able to snap out of the mind control when face to face with sonic, but the same really cant be said for suddenly being half machine. hes managing... but also does his best to keep it secret, out of fear of how people might react (especially after seeing the distrust people have for aile and the other end results of "project: overlord") and also not really wanting to make it a big deal.
aka i cant stop drawing robots/cyborgs/etc but at least i have canon justification HJDGHDJGHD
