Description
This map is about a hypothetical reduction of Northern Ireland in an imagined future. After Brexit, Scotland would become independent and UK would be renamed as United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland. Consequently, the number of people in Northern Ireland in favour of an united Ireland increases significantly and certain acts of violence start to happen. Because of that, London and Dublin agree that a self-determination referendum be held. In addition, it's established that each Northern Irish district could be incorporated into Republic of Ireland if a majority is against of remaining in United Kingdom. The referendum resulted in a majority being in favour of remaining in United Kingdom but four districts vote for incorporation: Newry, Mourne and Down; Derry and Strabane; Fernamagh and Omagh and Mid Ulster. So Northern Irish area is reduced significantly. After reduction, finally Northern Ireland approves a new official flag.Related content

It still amazes me how long the border has lasted, it was after all a damn botch job. It was only left in that situation because W.T. Cosgrave bailed out on any changes in return for the Irish Free State not having to pay off a massive chunk of the U.K. national debt.
With this Brexit thing the local smugglers must be rubbing their hands in glee at the thought of massive amounts of criminal cash, I mean most of the terrorist organisations where heavily involved in crime, that and counterfeiting........as in bottles of vodka with "Smirnoff" misspelt.

Would it really still be called the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland if it doesn't have all of the island of Great Britain? A more accurate (but more clunky) name would just be something like "The United Kingdom of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland"

Just Britain, not Great Britain. In my last poll, an user told me he had read an interesting argument which said that it could just be the United Kingdom of Britain and Northern Ireland, basically using the old Roman province as the justification for that. I haven't heard that argument before but I like it and I found it curious, that's the reason why I used that name.

I guess that's one way of looking at it.
