Nice, just need more Peek-an-teeny rails and early 2000's AN-PEQs right? Maybe some cheapo EOTech holo-sights huh? This already is perfect, William from FWS is right.. Is it just me or any one else can see a Thompson, a SPAS-12 and a M60 bipod there? I'm curious to know on what this was based on

Matsucorp In reply to Dick-Plant [2015-10-23 02:29:05 +0000 UTC]

Regarding the real screen used Pulse rifles... You're correct! There is a Thompson is under there, with a slightly extended barrel, about 2". The part that looks like an M60 bipod, actually isnt Β but it does remind you of one. The stock and barrel vet were by all accounts fabricated.
The grenade launcher shroud is indeed a SPAS 12 hand guard, but its been reversed and inside it is an extremely shortened REM-870
The Body, or the Β shrouds Β were supposedly fabricated allegedly by a company that made race car bodies, as per James Cameron's direction and artwork...(he's a decent illustrator and designer in his own right.)Β
The parts I used to make my replica were fabricated and refined over the course of several years.

And... Β for what its worth I designed and built the mold masters and production prototypes for the HCG Licensed pulse rifle replica project. I was granted access to one of the few remaining screen used pulse rifles in private hands. My measurements, reference and research on the matter was exhaustive... so yeah Β I know a teeny bit about the old pulse rifle...

Hmm that's nice, thanks for answering!!
I can't wait to have a replica of this one. But what do you think about the "new" pulse rifle?

Hey man, have you considered making a "SAW" variant of the Pulse Rifle?

I've made them before, not sure if I posted it.
I'll look for some pix.

Thanks, that particular gun had very light weathering, as per the client's request. I tend to weather my guns heavily otherwise.

M41A pulse rifle, 99 round light armor piercing caseless round magazine, under barrel mounted pump action grenade launcher with 5 round capacity. This is beautiful ^.^ One of the best I've ever seen, it's my fave weapon in the series.

Wolven-Slave In reply to Matsucorp [2011-12-26 23:57:29 +0000 UTC]

Well it paid off, this is a truly beautifully done weapon. The care and detail you put into it is amazing, I'm big into the books and the movies, but out of all the weapons they used this has always been my fave. They work in almost any condition, are water proof and fire under water, heavy impact resistance, hell they even work at 115 below zero, the stock makes them accurate over impressive distances for a hand held weapon.

Matsucorp In reply to Wolven-Slave [2011-12-27 00:07:53 +0000 UTC]

Thanks I try not to over do the weathering and tent to make them look how they would if they were real service weapons.

Cool, so what did you make it out of? A kit, or something else?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Matsucorp In reply to Great-5 [2011-12-22 22:44:15 +0000 UTC]

I make the kits, they are mostly resin castings with the barrel, barrel vent and shoulder stock in metal.

Fascinating. I saw an airsoft kit once for making a replica M41A pulse rifle, that modded and converted an airsoft Thompson submachine gun into a pulse rifle. However the required gun was 150 dollars and the KIT itself was over 400 bucks, so I can only really dream about it.

People would be surprised how low quality actual screen used props are. Often replicas surpass the originals far as detail and craftsmanship.
