The lighting looks nice here. Quite warm where it hits the beach and rocks in the foreground. Loving the movement you caught in the waves splashing on the shore as well. Not an easy task to do in such lighting. I think it could be brightened slightly but otherwise it's a lovely photograph. Will have to make it to Portwrinkle some time this summer!

Hmm yeah, maybe it could do with being brightened slightly but it was an early evening sun and I loved the warmth on the rocks. Thanks for the critique - I appreciate you taking the time
Portwrinkle is a trove of hidden treasures when the tide goes out, as I found when I shot Always one evening. At least with Portwrinkle you have two beaches to choose from so if one isn't giving you any joy you can always walk along the wall to the next one.

The first thing I noticed was how blue the water is, and then how warm the rocks look.
Quite the contrast between warm and cool colors there!
By the way - how high up are those cliffs? They look pretty big, but maybe still 'jumping' sized. xD

Oh God, it's difficult to say how high... I'd guess the car park is at 50-60ft above sea level and that's out of shot to the left. The ones up ahead, 30ft maybe?

OK, cool. I was just trying to get a general feel for the size of it - it's hard to tell if it's the perspective or if it really is just that big sometimes.

Hmm, actually, that pillbox to the left of the picture is about 5ft high so use that as a scale. It's about 30ft towards the right end of the cliff, more like 60ft to the left. I'm crap at estimating height anyway

Now there is a beach I wouldn't mind being at. looks almost non English. If it wasn't for all the wetness that you get, from the wet sand and rocks. Looks like it rained the previous day!

Very perceptive of you, I believe it did rain on Thursday.
It's not a bad beach but like a lot of the southern Cornish coast it's very rocky beneath the water. Wetshoes are advisable
