One of the things I always liked about ball point is the really subtle shading you can get with it. I've never mastered that without it getting clumpy, but clearly you have. The shading on the birds belly and wings is really sweet.

you should give another go. the only thing i do is clean the collection of ink off the tip every few strokes. it makes the work take long, but you drop less glops that way. you will still drop a glop here and there. the challenge is working the glops into the piece!
