Anothjer Airfix 'what if kit of the 1970s. This the 'Dove' - aka 'Doppleganger' - Ffrom the 1969 Sci-Fi feature film ‘Doppleganger’ aka ‘Jorney to the Far Side of the Sun’. written and produced by Gerry Anderson.
In the film the European Space agency ‘Eurosec’ launches a manned rocket to explore a newly discoverd planet in an identical orbti to the Earth. The ‘Dove’ was a shuttle carried aboard the rocket’s service module - the ‘Phoenix’. The ship is capable of flight in space as well as planetary atmospheres and vertical take off and landing.

I imagine this would likely be a ‘Series 2’ kit in the mid ‘70s, - with movable wing-tips of course - gimmicky features like this were all the rage in the 1970s!
The ship was designed ny the film’s Visual Effects Director and long time Anderson collaborator, the great Derek Meddings.
