Description I am pleased to present part 1 of the 1st draft of The Mad Tyrant Melisande. Clocking in at just under 5,000 words so far, it is just as long as the original fairy tale. The full story will no doubt be several times longer, as we're just getting started by the end of this first part here.

More images are on the way too! It's important to get the story ironed out first though, as the illustrations will be directly related to the text. Ultimately, my goal for this project is to tell a great story, and one that, as with everything I do, can be enjoyed by people both within and outside of our community. I want Melisande and the other characters to feel believable, and for this to seamlessly build off of the original fairy tale by Edith Nesbit. In the original, Melisande is a very positive, kind character. I want her transition from good to evil to feel tragic and credible (unlike say, what happens with Daenerys in the Game of Thrones TV show).

I'm very much looking forward to your feedback, so give it a read and let me know what you think! If you'd like to directly support the creation of this project, join the community over on Patreon! Patrons have already had this in their hands for a week now, and we also recently completed our first poll about what direction the ending should take!

Work also continues on the Vigilant Lioness tabletop game! There's a bunch of new card art over on the Discord (and soon to be uploaded to Patreon as well!). Grey, the lead designer, and I are hosting near weekly play tests with patrons as we continue to develop scenarios for the game. There's never been a better time to be a patron and a part of the Lioness community!

I'm available for commissioned work! I price per project, as the time and effort for a painting can vary tremendously from piece to piece based on the specific demands of the job. Loose digital paintings start at $200. For a small traditional painting, the minimum is $500. Feel free to send me an email at matthewhuntleystudios at gmail dot com with your idea if you'd like to work with me and get a quote!

Purchase my book, prints, original art, pins, and more here at my store!

A tremendous thank you to my patrons on Patreon for your continued support! I couldn't do this without you!
