Description
The exhilaration of victory was a faded, distant memory. The more battles she won, the more opponents that presented themselves. The cycle had, for her, become routine. She knew eventually she'd lose, but she'd keep rising to defend everyone anyway. Maybe the Director could find a way to stop the monsters before it came to that.

This is one I'm pretty psyched about, for now (though I'm sure I'll come to realize how amateurish it was 6 months from now haha). There was a fairly elaborate setup in terms of reference photos. I built a crude set out of cardboard and had my friend pose as the injured heroine getting patched up. Definitely the way I want to proceed going forward: better reference means better final paintings.

EDIT: Finally got a decent camera, so I took a new shot of it!

4/29/2022: I've been going back through my images, and I didn't realize just how crushed and dark this one was! Re-adjusted everything in Photoshop to make it appear as close to the original as possible. Also added the short vignette that goes with it!
