It was a strange thing to still feel her feet against the ground. The shore had receded to a pinprick of light on the horizon, where no doubt emergency crews were only just beginning the enterprise of removing the horror she had dispatched. And yet even so far removed, surrounded by seawater, her tether remained unbroken.

She pushed off still farther, was truly stretching now to keep her head above the surface. Motes of light appeared on the periphery and moved inwards. "Ma'am?" a man called through a crackling megaphone. "I've got a Director Xiang on the line by way of the Coast Guard. She's askin' if you're okay?"

The giant made to stop her momentum and redirect towards the boat but finally felt her legs kick out against emptiness. "Tell her I'm on my way back," she said gently, thunderously. Two hundred feet below the water's surface, her toes brushed the earth again, and she clenched her fists as she strode inland like so many of her adversaries before. There would be more. And she would be there.
